Hello! My name is Lisa and I am busy chasing my dream! I started singing in high school with the Choir and Show Choir (Northland Vikings class of '90) and in the early 2000s started singing with a group "Highway 70" a classic rock/country group, playing our biggest gig around 2003 on the bicentennial stage at Red, White & BOOM! They told me I had to play an instrument if I wanted to be in the band, so I taught myself to play guitar, which has been fun! I am happily married to my #1 fan - Mike (Since Nov 1994), and after taking time away from music to raise my daughter, I jumped back into playing with a group we named, Waterloo 5, as it was formed in the historic village of Waterloo Ohio on Waterloo Rd and there were 5 of us in the band. The band was formed in 2016 and I am finding, like most bands, sometimes band members come and go for various reasons, this has been a difficult lesson for me to learn. I have met so many wonderful people along my journey with this group (RIP DAVE WILLIAMS) who are precious to me and who I miss dearly! While the band members may have changed over the years, one thing remains the same, and that is the PIPES(refer to photo below)! I always look forward to meeting new friends while we are playing out, so don't be shy, come say hello!
Ron taught himself to play guitar as a 10 year old in the sixties and soon after joined his older brother's band, The Blue Shaft, which played covers of hit songs from groups such as the Temptations, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Steppenwolf, Jimi Hendrix, Vanilla Fudge and James Gang at skating rinks and block parties. Since that time, Ron has played guitar, trumpet tuba, drums, and bugle as part of school, bands, Air Force Drum and Bugle Core, comedy music acts with his brother for family weddings, and other Rock or Country bar bands in Arizona and Ohio. In 2019, after taking time away from playing to raise a family and to complete an engineering career, Ron learned that Waterloo 5 needed a lead guitar player and after reviewing a list of songs and talking with Lisa, he thought the band could be a good fit. After an audition, Lisa and the band agreed.
Ron says, "The music we play in Waterloo 5 is a review of some of the greatest Rock songs that I listened to as a fan throughout my life. When you have a strong connection with the music and you like the people you are playing it with, life is good. And when the audience is into the music, life is great!"
